We have suggested some essential items here for your trip, so you can be fully prepared for training and make the most out of your experience in China!

Lonely Plannet Travel Guides
Lonely plannet books really helped me around China. I would suggest at least taking the phrasebook if nothing else.
The books can help you find essential must see tourist attractions, book hostels and get by with the language.
Chinese Herbal - Red Flower Oil
Red Flower Oil can help with aching joints after training.
I found personally that it had suprising results..
Scholl - Athletes Foot Spray
Foot spray is a must if you are doing hard regular training. It can ease or prevent athletes foot, and you really dont want that!
Tiger Balm
A little different to Red Flower Oil, - Tiger Balm helps with aching muscles (rather than joints)
It is a bit like an extreme version of 'Deep Heat'.
Just be careful where you touch after using it, wash hands thoroughly! ;-)
Martial Arts Footwear & Training Gear
Blitz sport is a good site wher eyou can buy easy earing training bottoms, good for stretching and kicking.
The school will have sparring mits but if you prefer your own, they sell them here also.
